Our peculiar workshop façade is a Barcelona icon.

People enter our shop because of a photograph or illustration they saw, a text they read (Carlos Ruiz Zafón mentions La Manual a few times in his book The Labyrinth of the Spirits), or a description they heard. Once, a client sent us a letter where a drawing of our façade was figured as the receiver’s address. Guess what, we got it!

At La Manual, shop and workshop are one and the same. Here you’ll find the opportunity to experience the espadrilles-making craft first hand. (and customise your own Pinxo Model as you please!)

Our workshop has pieces of fabric lying around, soles stacked on shelves and unfinished espadrilles over the table. The messiness of our place reflects a craft process; here is where the magic happens.

Would you like to have an espadrille experience with us?

We love to show our workshop and offer visitors a unique insight into our craft. Get to know the backstage of our activity, discover our 80-year-old story and immerse yourself in a rich heritage.
Will be a pleasure to meet you in our emblematic workshop in Barcelona, in the Gothic Quarter.
We will make an introduction about the history and the materials that we use to make our product, we will explain about this tradition, and how the espadrille went from being the footwear for the most humble class to being part of the world of fashion, we will work on the same table where the espadrille took this step 81 years ago, will be an enriching and entertaining explanation.
we will guide you in the process of creating your “Pinxo” espadrille, our iconic model.

You will choose the height of the base, the color of the ribbons, and we will proceed to create together your espadrille.

We will show you how to take care of them, and various ways to tie them, so that you use them in a comfortable and elegant way.

You can choose if you want to make the espadrille by yourself, or if you want us to make the espadrille, while we share stories, a glass of cava, and some snacks
